Save the Date  JUNE 13 2020 RIDE A TEST

We are very excited to announce we will resume our show season at High Point!

Some of us in the dressage community have been affected more then others, so we are offering a “Ride a Test” format to give everyone a chance to practice some test riding or experience schooling off property.

We will have a videographer instead of a judge and we encourage you to participate in Equine Canada’s “Am I Ready?” program.

We have taken the guidelines from Fraser Health, Equine Canada, and World Health Organization and made some small but significant changes in order to keep everyone safe and healthy.

Entry forms will be available on the High Point website ( www.highpointec.ca ) as well our list of changes to our operating procedures

Please take a moment to read through and familiarize yourself before entering.

Entries will be limited, and as always we will do our best to accommodate all requests and schedules, but ask for your patience as we continue to adjust to the new normal.

We suggest you sign up for Facebook as it’s the quickest and fastest way to make announcements / changes during this fluid time.

We will host a series of “open days” for the community by pre arranged appointment

Please check our Facebook page and website for dates to be announced

Gym Re-opening May 19th

Fraser Health has announced that as of May 19th (this Tuesday) fitness facilities may reopen in accordance with phase 2 of BC’s restart plan.

Highpoint is working towards reopening and intends on being one of the gyms included in this restart plan. Please understand that there are numerous guidelines and restrictions that need to be followed to comply with Fraser Health and Work Safe BC.

Some temporary changes will include limiting the number of patrons in the gym at one time as well as the time spent in the gym per session (50 mins, allowing an additional 5 mins for arrival and departure). This will accommodate for the transitions between client arrivals and departures.

We will temporarily move to a sign-up system that will be on a TeamSnap Mobile App. We have had much success with this app for our riding arena scheduling. Once you have sent your email address (to admin@highpointec.ca) an invitation will be sent to your email address to access this free app. Sign up and you can then see already scheduled workouts, then reserve your own time. With all equipment being spaced out 2 meters from each other, we can accommodate 4 gym members at the same time. Vaughan’s fitness is considering opening shortly after (stay tuned for their own announcements) and they will be limited to an additional 4 trainers with 4 clients. This will still allow enough space to comfortably workout 6 feet apart as mandated by Fraser Health. Those not socially distancing will be reminded to do so or may be asked to leave.

Each person will need to disinfect equipment each time they finish using it. Regardless of Covid-19, this will remain our gym etiquette practices. If you have been unwell (sneezing, temperature, etc.) please do not come to the facility until you are 100% well again.

Unfortunately, there will temporarily be no locker room use, showers, and water cooler. There are plenty of disinfectant stations through out the gym and hand sanitizer to be used by each person upon arrival to the facility. We must be vigilant with these practices as it is paramount for us to remain certain that all our Gym users are assured this is a safe environment.

We are so excited to see all the familiar and friendly faces getting back to working towards their fitness goals and blowing off some major steam which is much needed during these trying times.

We look forward to assisting you in any way needed. Send us your email to receive the invite to TeamSnap. Any questions? Call Lisa at 604-530-1919
